Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens Tour
May 7 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Join the Women’s Fellowship group on May 7 and take a field trip to Hillwood Museum, Estate and Gardens in northwest DC. Our visit will feature docent-led tours of the extensive gardens and the mansion, as well as a buffet lunch in the cafe. The cost of the tour and lunch is $49, payable at registration. Don’t delay! Space is limited!
Hillwood Estate is the former home of Marjorie Merriweather Post, who spent decades collecting art and artifacts from around the world. We will explore objects from her collection of Russian imperial art, French eighteenth-century decorative art, as well as her collection of apparel, jewelry, and accessories. Hillwood also has one of the most extensive collection of orchids, a Japanese garden and a cemetery for her beloved dogs. May is a fabulous time to visit and the gardens will be in full bloom! As an added bonus, the museum gift shop is not-to-be-missed!
Be sure to register early as space is limited. We will meet in the parking lot at the Meeting House (419 S. Royal Street) at 9:00 AM so we can car pool to Hillwood. We are scheduled to tour the gardens at 10:30 AM, have lunch at noon, and tour the mansion at 1:30 PM, returning to the Meeting House by 3:00 PM.
