Holiday Sharing

Holiday Sharing

Choose one or more ways to support this year’s program that best fit your budget and available time, joining in a wonderful collective effort to bring joy and many practical items to people in need in the Alexandria community during the Christmas season.

There are several ways to participate in the holiday sharing program. We can even do the shopping and wrapping for you! See the Personal Shoppers section below. Please select all areas you are willing to help.

Name(Required)

Sponsor a Family

You may choose to sponsor a large family (3+ children) or small family (1-2 children). Some families request gift cards for each member and others will submit Wish Lists, with specific items for each family member. Plan to spend $125+ for each child in a family, plus a total of $100 of grocery cards. Individuals can join together to sponsor a family (for example, each taking one child). If a bicycle is requested, the total for that child will likely exceed $125, but you may request that another donor supply the bike.

Purchase a bike or scooter

Many of the families request bikes for their children. Locks and helmets should also be provided with each bike. You can sign-up to provide one or more bikes for a family.
I will purchase the following

Sponsor a senior or disabled adult, or a foster teen

Seniors and Disabled Adults receive a $50 grocery card and a $75 gift card to Target, Walmart or Amazon. Teens receive a total of $125 worth of gift cards to Target, Amazon, Walmart or other teen-friendly store/site. In addition to receiving gift cards, each Foster Teen will receive a Gift Bag stuffed with teen inspired goods (the types of items you put in a stocking). Please see the SignupGenius on the OPMH Holiday Sharing page to contribute to the gift bags..

Donate a grocery or gift card

Grocery Gift Cards (Giant, Safeway, Harris Teeter, Aldi, Lidl, and Wegmans) are needed by every family and adult. Requested cards should be in $25 or $50 denominations. Other Gift Cards (Amazon, Visa, AmEx, etc.) can be donated in any denomination.
I will donate grocery gift card(s)

Give where the need is greatest

If you are willing to help fill in gaps by giving to meet the greatest need, that’s wonderful! Anna Davis will contact you.

One more option; donate a new, unwrapped toy

Many families who apply for the Holiday Sharing program are not selected due to the high number of requests. Families that are not selected are invited to pick out toys from the Toy Drive Please bring unwrapped toys to the Church Office by December 8. No registration necessary, just bring your unwrapped toy to the office.
