Cookie Walk

The 8th Annual Meeting House Cookie Walk on Saturday, December 5 from 11:30 – 2:30 PM (or until the cookies sell out!) as part of the church’s community engagement with the Scottish Walk! This has become a favorite event for our neighbors and our members, which we’re hoping to invigorate with your involvement!

We discovered this type of event in the midwest and it’s a fun way to engage people both in the congregation and in our community. If you enjoy baking, this volunteer opportunity is for YOU!

What exactly is a “cookie walk?” 
It is fairly simple: people-like YOU- bake cookies (usually a couple dozen), drop them at church on designated dates, volunteers “plate” them, and trays of all different types of cookies are placed on tables. On the day of the event, people bring their own cookie container or we provide containers, folks check in and weigh their empty container, then walk around the table and gather as many cookies as they wish (using the provided gloves). Folks then go to the checkout area where their tin/container is weighed.  It is $10/pound of cookies. And voila – folks have a great variety, or not, of cookies to bring to a holiday gathering, the office or home.  And we, as a congregation, have connected with each other and welcomed in members of our community.  And funds are raised for the ongoing preservation and maintenance of the Meeting House’s historic buildings and burial ground.

Cookie Drop Off: Friday, December 4 from 4:00-6:00 PM or Saturday, December 6, 8:30-10:30 AM in Fellowship Hall. Contact Andrea and Tobin if these times are not manageable for you.
