Poulenc’s “Gloria” and music of Lili Boulanger

May 19 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Join us on May 19 at 3:00 PM for our final Concert With A Cause for the season! This FREE concert is presented by the Festival Choir and Orchestra and led by music director Dr. Steven Seigart. First on the program will be Francis Poulenc’s expansive Gloria, an energetic and playful masterwork commissioned by the Koussevitsky Foundation and premiered by the Boston Symphony Orchestra in 1961. Lastly we will feature music by Lili Boulanger (the younger sister of famed pedagogue Nadia Boulanger, and the first woman to win the prestigious Prix de Rome), including her riveting setting of Psalm 24 and her glowing Hymne au soliel.

If you would like to join the Festival Chorus for this concert, please contact Dr. Steven Seigart for more information.
